It’s impossible to execute on elegance when you are trying to be too many things. Elegance is a single thesis done excellently. It’s a decision to do less things, not more, and to work on those few things until the results feel effortless and jaw dropping. The reason the iPad won was because it’s designers avoided the temptation a to make it a laptop-sans-keyboard. You can’t make an elegant product if you want to make something that everyone will love.
Dagaki’s work isn’t for everyone. Her main materials are naturally toned woods and leather. She borrows from the geometric patters of her Hellenic ancestors. If you’re a woman who is uncomfortable with jewelry that assumes your going to wear a low plunge line dress or blows, then her work isn’t for you.
But if you want stunning jewelry that says something about your ideas about the world. She might be someone to look into.
